Group scale
Different sizes require different systems
A couple in a private vehicle, a small study group in a Sprinter and a larger church movement by coach cannot share the same assumptions. Vehicle capacity, luggage volume, guide audibility and loading time affect every day.
For multi-vehicle operations, guide staffing and communication must be planned rather than improvised.
Daily rhythm
Meals, headsets and hotel locations shape what groups can absorb
A hotel chosen only by room price may add hours of transfer. A lunch without group timing can delay an archaeological visit. Headsets can protect both audibility and the dignity of other visitors.
These are not glamorous decisions, but they determine whether the day supports learning and fellowship.
- Airport and luggage plan
- Realistic loading time
- Meal reservations and dietary notes
- Rooming and hotel-region logic
- Site-specific walking expectations
Mobility
Honest expectations create better choices
Ancient sites include uneven marble, slopes, stairs and exposed terrain. We ask about mobility before finalizing daily pace and entrances.
Adaptation may include shorter routes, extra vehicle access where permitted, rest time or splitting a group for part of a visit. Specific accessibility cannot be promised without checking the site and current conditions.
